How to Make Your Own Copper Pipe Garden Ornaments

This is a tip for building the "Tall Narrow Fan" on page 103 of the book.

The holes through the spreader bars should be drilled at an angle that matches the fan pattern, not perpendicular to the spreader bars. If you drill perpendicular holes you will have a hard time pushing the pipe through the spreader bars and assembling the trellis.

To get the correct angles for drilling, simply put the spreader bars on a flat surface, lay the copper pipe on top of them in the fan pattern, and mark the drilling angle on the spreader bars with a pencil. Then use the pencil marks as guides while you drill the holes.
